We host seasonal cooking and nutrition workshops that feature simple, culturally relevant recipes made with ingredients sourced directly from our markets and garden. These sessions are led by local cooks, health educators, and community partners who bring both expertise and lived experience to the table.
Participants also receive training in food safety and essential kitchen skills. Whether they’re preparing meals at home or exploring small business opportunities, they learn how to handle, store, and cook food in ways that prioritize health and hygiene.
To support long-term impact, we offer micro-enterprise training focused on cottage food production and value-added goods. These sessions open pathways for participants interested in turning their skills into income—empowering them to launch small-scale food businesses rooted in local ingredients and community values.
Nutrition Education & Skills Training
Nourishing minds while feeding bodies.
At Rosa’s Second Harvest, we believe that access to food must go hand in hand with access to knowledge. Our Nutrition Education & Skills Training program equips community members with the tools to make informed, healthy choices that last a lifetime. Through hands-on workshops, cooking demos, and micro-enterprise training, we turn every distribution site and garden bed into a learning opportunity—empowering individuals to care for their health, stretch their grocery budgets, and even turn food skills into income.
