Guided by a commitment to democratic values and community well-being, we aim to foster a legacy of collaboration that uplifts every voice.
Our Story
The Newberry Institute (TNI) began with a simple yet powerful vision: to build resilient communities through purposeful partnerships. Rooted in Hawkinsville, Georgia, we launched with the belief that real change happens when people come together to tackle challenges and create opportunity.
What started as a local effort to fight food insecurity has grown into a multifaceted movement—spanning food access, environmental conservation, interfaith dialogue, civic engagement, and more. Every TNI initiative reflects our commitment to equity, sustainability, and community-driven progress.
From Rosa’s Second Harvest and Annie Lee’s Porch to Ameenah’s Interfaith Center and the Plow & Pew Democracy Center, our work is shaped by those we serve. Volunteers, partners, and neighbors have been the force behind every milestone.
As we look ahead, our mission remains clear: to strengthen communities, inspire hope, and lead with compassion. Join us as we write the next chapter—one partnership, one program, and one community at a time.
